Meet Our Founder
Dr. Damaris Maweu has served as Director of the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) since 2023, following a distinguished career in pharmacy—first at Kam and Malibu Pharmacies, then as founder of Daroma Chemist. A graduate of Mount Kenya University’s Bachelor of Pharmacy program, she combines scientific leadership with deep community commitment. Through the Damaris Maweu Foundation, she champions women, uplifts the less fortunate, and mentors Kenya’s youth toward brighter futures.
